Summer Holiday Adventures

January 26, 2023 Posted by Kiwi Conservation Club
Me and dad getting ready to look for kiwis at Lake Rotokare

During our summer holidays, we’ve been on various bush walks and found some pretty cool things! We visited the Everett Park Scenic Reserve and found a stink horn fungus (which does stink!!) and we found some glow worms and a wētā on a night walk through there, too.  At Lake Rotokare we found an insect with long wings and an awesome leaf veined slug! And, at Stoney Oaks, we found a New Zealand giant scale.  We’re learning to look up, under, down and all around to find some very cool things!
