Our KCC Matariki Family Night

July 31, 2019 Posted by Kiwi Conservation Club

By Nate (age 8) from KCC Southland

We started the night making seed balls from clay and seeds and dirt to throw out in our garden so they will grow into a native tree.

Then we played tag outside on the wet grass and looked through a telescope. We made some art out of things like flax, sticks, and grasses. Some people made kites and dream catchers, and one person made a broom. It was hard, but we had fun.

Then we all did the Matariki macarena dance with all the stars names in it. When it was dark, we roasted marshmallows on a fire which was my favourite bit.
