Make a Tin Plant Pot

You will need:

An empty tin and its lid
Bottle opener
Potting mix
Seeds – sunflowers, beans or peas are good
An old saucer or lid

What to do

With a bottle opener (the sort shown in the picture), make 3 v-shaped holes in the bottom of the tin. The ‘V’ should be pointing upward.

Drop the lid into the bottom of the tin so it rests on the points. Almost fill the tin with soil or potting mix.

The lid will allow water to drain out while keeping the soil from falling out of the holes.

You can decorate the tin with a coloured paper wrapper.

Plant the seeds in the tin and water. The seeds can be transplanted into the garden when they are the same height as the tin.
