My Bird Story

January 24, 2023 Posted by Kiwi Conservation Club

By Yukuan, age 8

Me and my mummy were walking around the park when we saw a baby bird that fell out of its nest onto the concrete sidewalk (he was almost dead) so we took it home so it wouldn’t have such a painful death.

We put it in a paper box with tissues to make the poor bird comfortable. The next day we thought it would be dead but it was hungry and screaming for food with its mouth open wide so we gave him some food.

A week later the bird had recovered and we gave the bird to a local bird rescue because we were going on holiday to Kaikōura to see some whales and dolphins.
