My dishwasher container kākāpō

April 1, 2020 Posted by Kiwi Conservation Club

Hi Hoiho,
My name is Judah and my favourite bird is a kākāpo.

I made a kākāpō from a dishwasher container because I wanted it to have wings out the back.  First we painted the container with white paint, then cut the wings and drew the kākāpō shape.  Mum said we would get some paint, but then we couldn’t get any because of Covid19 lockdown. So, we used food coloring and crayons. We had to mix yellow and blue to get green.  It’s a new way of making a type of paint, and I love the colour it turned out with.

When I’m older I want to look after a kākāpō and when it is a chick. I will give it this kākāpō I made to look like it’s his mother.

Thanks for the challenge.
