Wild Things 153

Marine: Mountains to the sea series

      • In the 2021 issues of Wild Things we go for an amazing journey through the different environments of Aotearoa. Follow some of our friends to the tippy tops of Aotearoa’s highest mountains, down through the forest and freshwater streams, all the way to the coast. We will meet some of the incredible animals and plants that call these places home and discover some fun activities to do along the way. Look out for the poster in the centre of each magazine, collect all four and they will join together to form one giant poster by the end of the year!

Highlights include:

Travel around our marine environments with our friend Curley, the Far Eastern Curlew. Curley takes us way up high with some of our world traveler sea birds, and then dives deep within the ocean to get up close with some of our beloved marine mammals.

Write a postcard to our Prime Minister – use your voice to save our seas.

Take a journey under water with our virtual marine reserve tour.

Make a seaweed pressing!

Learn about marine species super powers and rate which ones you think have the coolest powers!

There are many kaitiaki who are taking care of our marine habitats, read their stories and see how you too can get involved!
