Polly visits Elsie and Harrison in Ōtautahi for Christmas 2025

January 13, 2026 Posted by Kiwi Conservation Club

Polly came to stay with Elsie (8) and Harrison (5) in Ōtautahi | Christchurch for Christmas. On Christmas day, Santa and the reindeer left footprints by the door and Polly landed in them. She got magic snow on her, but she didn’t seem to mind. She enjoyed looking at the presents under the tree.

After Christmas we went on a tramp to Lake Daniell in the Lewis Pass. Polly rode on mum’s backpack and had a great view of the forest and all the streams and waterfalls we walked past. We think she loved being back in the ngahere!

The hut was all booked so we stayed in our tents – Polly was very cosy snuggled up in the sleeping bag with Elsie. Luckily, she didn’t seem bothered by all the sandflies!

We had a really fun time with Polly and were sad to say goodbye to her, and we hope she can come to have another adventure sometime!
