Polly Pekapeka visits Frances and Jamie

July 4, 2024 Posted by Kiwi Conservation Club

Polly Pekapeka (our KCC Mascot) is looking for adventure, so she’s off visiting KCCers around Aotearoa – and beyond. Follow all her adventures out and about in nature HERE.

In June 2024, Polly visited Frances (age 8) and Jamie (age 6) in Kirikiriroa | Hamilton. Here’s what they got up to together…

When Polly Pekapeka came to stay with us, we went to our ngahere at Forest Lake School, and we also went to the Matariki festival.

On Saturday morning, we went to Hammond Park to show Polly the other pekapeka that live there. We showed her the Project Echo bat box and the Waikato awa. She got to go and snuggle up in Dad’s cozy pocket.

On our walk, we met some people from the council and volunteers doing planting, and so we stopped and helped for a while.

Polly got to meet some new friends and have a photo with them!!!! She loved the old clock.
