Welcome the Godwits home at Miranda

08/10/2016
All Day
Miranda Shorebird Centre Firth of Thames Auckland
Bookings Essential
Jo, waitakere@kcc.org.nz,

This trip will take us a little further afield, to the shores of Miranda on the Firth of Thames, home to many shorebirds including the godwits who will have recently returned from their annual migration. We will visit the Miranda Shorebird Centre, where we will learn more about these amazing birds from a local expert, as well as heading down to the viewing areas to spot some for ourselves. You may like to make a full day or weekend of it and enjoy the local hot pools and camping ground (we won’t be organising this part though).
