Quarantine Island trip

Mark this in your diaries- KCC Dunedin has a new date for our popular Quarantine Island trip-  Sunday 4th October.

The tide is again on our side so we will explore the rocky shore with Jim Fyffe (Department of Conservation- Marine), meet the new keepers, as well as have time to explore the island and connect with friends/make new ones.

The boat will leave from back beach (Port Chalmers) at 9.30am so please arrive 10mins beforehand to ensure loading happens quickly. Depending on numbers we might have to do a couple of trips.

We will catch the boat back at approx 3pm the same day.

Please be aware if we are still in level 2, Adults will need to wear masks on the boat.

We hope you can join us- please use this link to register for the trip (please note the trip is limited to 36 people):

Any questions please ask

What To Bring:
Walking shoes, warm clothes, sunhat and wind/rain coats. It can be very windy on the island at times. Please also ensure you have lunch and drink bottles. We will have lunch by the lodge- so can access hot and cold water and utensils and you are welcome to eat inside the lodge.

To join this event, please bring an adult who is responsible for you!
