Catlins’ Bat Project – summer family bat walks

9:15 pm

All Bat Walks are free, koha welcome.
Bookings Essential

Here in The Catlins we are lucky to be home to some of New Zealand’s rarest animals, Long-tailed Bats. Bring the family along to these events and discover more about the secret lives of bats.

Look and listen out for bats! Discover some bat facts and maybe see some of our local bats fly by. Please wear clothes suitable for the weather and bring a torch. All walks will be over very short distances and involve a lot of standing around (or sitting – perhaps bring a portable chair!). Locations have been selected as the most likely to see our local bats, however their presence on the night, as with any wild animal especially when so rare, cannot be guaranteed.
